Our Doctors

Dr. Brandon Byrd

DVM

Dr. Byrd is a 2006 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. He began working at Moyers Veterinary Hospital in 2010 and purchased the practice in 2016.

He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and works hard to make sure that all his patients receive the best care possible.

Dr. Byrd and his wife Chanda have a daughter, Braylee, and 4 dogs. They also own a small beef cattle farm around their home in western Greene County.

When not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Byrd enjoys time working on the farm.

Dr. Katie Maxey

DVM

Dr. Katie Maxey graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Dr. Maxey practiced as a mixed animal veterinarian in the Knoxville area prior to joining our team.

She is interested in all areas of internal medicine, reproductive health, and all things goat-related. Dr. Maxey lives in Maryville with her husband and son.

They have 2 Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and a miniature pig on their small farm (no goats yet)! Dr. Maxey enjoys showing her dogs in conformation and rally, as well as training for fieldwork.

Dr. Ashley Dennis

DVM

Dr. Ashley Dennis graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She practiced in Newport for seven years prior to joining our team.

Her main interests include surgery and pain management.

Dr. Dennis lives in Dandridge with her husband Josh. They have two dogs, two cats, and several chickens.

In her free time Dr. Dennis enjoys motorcycle trips, hiking, and cooking.

Dr. Carrie Ealy

DVM

Dr. Ealy is a highly skilled veterinarian with a passion for helping pets.

She is Level 2 Fear Free Certified, USDA accredited, and a member of both the TVMA and AVMA. Her specialties include internal medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, and preventative medicine.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and supporting her kids’ sports teams. A fun fact about her is that she played volleyball in college on both academic and athletic scholarships.
